A FollowMeter alternative that never connects to your Instagram

How they differ

The core difference is access. FollowMeter's site asks you to “Connect your Instagram” in its iOS or Android app. FindUnfollower never asks for your account at all: it reads the follower export Instagram gives every user, so there is no session to protect and nothing for Instagram to flag.

That choice has a cost, and it's fair to say so. An app that is connected to your account can refresh on its own. An export-based tracker is only as fresh as the last export you downloaded, which usually means checking weekly or monthly rather than hourly.

FollowMeter also advertises features outside follower lists, such as post performance and “secret admirers”. An export cannot show who looks at your profile, so FindUnfollower doesn't claim to: it focuses on followers, non-followers and unfollowers, where the export is exact.

Which one should you use?

Choose FollowMeter if you want an app on your phone that refreshes by itself and you are comfortable connecting your Instagram account to it.

Choose FindUnfollower if you don't want any third party connected to your account, you'd rather work from Instagram's own data, and checking after each export is often enough.
